I have lost one of the most precious girls that ever lived.
Ms. Libby was so special to me and my husband. She was our silly, smiling, valley girl. I will always see her bright eyes, her smile, and her wonderful, warm attitude, even if it is only in my dreams. I will never fill the void that she has left, or repair the hole in my heart, where her pawprints are forever burned. I loved this girl more than life itself, and she is gone.
No animal should ever be made to endure what this precious angel suffered her entire life.
If the breeding that produced this girl was meant as an experiment to see what would be produced, or if it were because of her lineage, or even if it was for monetary gain, it was indeed a tragic and sick failure. I can only hope that the foolish, carefree attitude, that lead to this girl being whelped will never be repeated.
I loved and cared for this girl for 8 years, 3 years longer than the best vets in the southeast said I would have her. She was, by their most learned opinions, only to live for 5 years, at the very best. But, when she couldn't stand, I helped her stand. When she couldn't walk, I carried her. And when she cried in pain, I cried also. I never gave up on her. I asked her for MORE and my girl always gave me MORE.
She rests in peace now, free from the horrible pain she lived with every day. Despite every drug known to veterinary medicine, I could no longer ease her pain, so I sent my beautiful silly, valley girl to The Rainbow Bridge, to wait for me there.
I will miss my girl for the rest of my life, but in the end, we will be together. That is my only comfort. It is my promise to my girl, and God's promise to me.
