Comments: I am a bit miffed that I took the time to fill out this lenthy form, only to find out the results were not submitted because it said I need to fill out the name and email address fields when both were already filled out accurately. I have a 12 YO GSD with a DM diagnosis. The main thing that I discovered that the melatonin I give him for thunderstorm phobia improved his bowel incompetence, so I continued to dose him nightly and have been amazed with his symptom improvement. He is very much improved in his muscle strength and coordination, his nocturnal/early morning bowel incontinence has improved, and he appears to be more alert. He gets a 10mg capsule NOCT along with an IM injection of 3mL of fortified vitamin B-complex QWK. He also gets 2.5mL of Chondroprotec PRN for arthritis, usually every 6 weeks or so. I am concerned that a lot of symptoms of DM are mimicked by MDR1 drug toxicity symptoms. I would suggest adding an MDR1 test to the DM testing if the individual is on any known medication that shows MDR1 intolerance.
