Comments: Hello,

Our family dog has DM and is in the stage where he cannot get up and support his weight without our help. Which he needs especially around meal time. He's only just had his 8th birthday this month. I wish you all the best in finding a cure or putting a stop to this disease.

All the best,
Cassie

Comments: Thank you for taking the time, and having such a compassionate heart to make a site like this to help support those who are struggling with this painful diagnosis in our beloved pets. Bless you and Jack for all your information and efforts. Our pug of 9 yrs has been officially diagnosed as of last month, and we are trying to do the best we can for him to make his remaining time as comfortable as possible - with the emphasis on quality of life... not quantity. Hydrotherapy has always helped his arthritic hips, so we will continue this, as we search for more ways to help him cope. Happy to have come across this site on the anniversary of Jack's passing. It is bittersweet, but I'm sure he is glad to know his legacy is still noble and helping so many others, every day. He is a special soul.

Comments: My husband's beloved guidedog, Nash, was diagnosed wth DM almost a year ago. I immediatly put him on Dr. Clemmons meds and protocal. He is still with us toady as I write, but would have been put down last August if not for the meds. I now use a fleese cinch for a horse, put a belt through it, to lift him up and down stairs. He can still walk, but it has slowed down to a crawl. He still looks forward to his walks. I don't know how much longer he has, and we have with him, but he will be forever loved.
Thank you for this site!!!

Comments: I came across your site while doing research on DM. I just wanted to share that DM also affects the Rottweiler breed, I just got the bad news a few days ago from our vet after taking our big guy Diesel in for prostate problems. I first thought, like many others I'm sure, his slowness in getting up was due to arthritis. It's hard news to take right now because he is only just going on 7 years old. My GSD Nicky lived to be 17 years, and health to the end. We only put her down a year ago, to have to think about going through it again so soon is hard. Anyway I look forward to getting as much info from your site as I can to help him for as long as he is going to be with us.

Comments: It's been six months since my best friend was diagnosed with DM and I feel that the time went too fast. Today he passed away in my arms, I wouldn't have had it any other way.

Comments: Thanks so much for the wealth of information on DM. It's obvious how much love and devotion you had for Jack Flash. He was a beautiful boy. I am with Legacy Boxer Rescue. I have been in Boxer rescue for 8 years and in the Boxer community for 17 years. DM affects this breed. I have just started fostering Smokey who has the begining stages of DM. We have 2 other volunteers that have had at least 3 dogs each with DM. It's such a aweful disease. I really just wanted to thank you for all the helpful information regarding DM. Judy

Comments: My 13 old golden has DM. For the past three days he wil not eat and I have had to force medication down him. He still walks if he has his boots on (see neopaws.com) the boots have really helped him on hardwood floors, however I think his journey with us is close to ending. I don't know what else to do. I'm bringing him in for acupuncture on Friday as this has also helped him, but refusing food is just not him. I'm so scared.
